100 Artisans Take the Stage

Mahashakti Foundation, in collaboration with TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), organized a one-day programme titled “Samriddhi Utsav 2026 – Honouring the Artisans Who Build Our Heritage” at Shilpi Vihar, Kala Bhoomi, Pokhariput, Bhubaneswar.
The festival was inaugurated by Mr. Pankaj Kumar Singh, Head – CSR (Transmission & Distribution), Tata Power. The programme was graced by prominent guests including Ms. Sumana Saha, Regional Manager, TRIFED; Mr. Roshan Kartik, Deputy Chief Executive Officer – Marketing , ORMAS; Mr. Prashant Kumar Mahapatra, Manager, Utkalika; Ms. Anamika Panda, Assistant General Manager, NABARD; Ms. Abha Mishra, Head, UNDP Odisha; Mr. Dilip Kumar Sahu, Head – CSR, TP South Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL); and Ms. Itishree Kanungo, Vice President, Mahashakti Foundation.
The event brought together 100 artisans from various handicraft clusters across Khordha, Puri, Ganjam and Dhenkanal districts. During the programme, the guests emphasized the importance of strengthening artisans’ livelihoods, skill development, market linkages, convergence with various government schemes, and promoting the sustainability of traditional handicrafts.
It was highlighted that Tata Power has been undertaking several initiatives across India to promote the development of the lives and livelihoods of handicraft artisans.
A major attraction of the event was the display of handcrafted products by the participating artisans, along with live demonstrations showcasing traditional craftsmanship and indigenous artisan skills.
As part of the programme, five accomplished artisans who had demonstrated excellence in handicrafts were felicitated by Ms. Rashmi Patnaik, Mr. Saurabh Deb Darshi, Mr. Shubham Purohit and Mr. Jugal Kishore Pattanayak, among others.
The programme was anchored by Ms. Sushrita Rath, while Mr. Mohan Baliyarsingh presented the objectives and significance of the event. Ms. Priyanka Pradhan delivered the vote of thanks.
